Saira Banu paid tribute to her late husband and actor Dilip Kumar on his 99th birthday. The legendary actor recalled his previous birthdays when their home was brimming with flowers.
The 99th birthday of the famous performer and her late husband, Dilip Kumar, will be a day of quiet reflection for veteran actor Saira Banu, who has been married to him for 55 years. Kumar died on July 7, 2021.
Despite the fact that she feels an awful vacuum without him physically present, Banu believes he is walking with her.
Banu described how, on Kumar’s birthdays in the past, the house was flooded with flowers and colourful bouquets as wishes flowed in from fans in India and throughout the world. Kumar is known for films such as Mughal-e-Azam, Devdas, Naya Daur, and Ram Aur Shyam.
The home would be overflowing with flowers; there were occasions when bouquets would be strewn across all of the floors, steps, and other areas of the house, and we would be unable to accommodate them. That was how amazing it used to be. He was adored by everyone. “He’s still there, she stated.”
Kumar was a highly active person and a gourmand who preferred basic clothing and enjoyed sports.
Kumar liked his plain white cotton garments with white sneakers for everyday wear, according to the 77-year-old veteran, despite having several exquisite suits and shirts.
According to Banu, the late celebrity had a special bond with children and had his techniques to keep them entertained.
Banu said that she had been sending meals to the underprivileged on Kumar’s behalf for several months. Before their marriage in 1966, Banu had worked with Kumar in a number of films, including Bairaag and Gopi. The actor stated that the memories she has of Kumar over the past five decades are what kept her going.
