One of Bollywood’s all-time great romance-dramas, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge which starred Shah Rukh Khan as Raj and Kajol as Simran clocks 25 years. The film won 14 Filmfare Awards and a National Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.
The hashtag #25YearsOfIconicDDLJ is trending on Twitter India and a ‘cowbell’ emoji has been added their to celebrate the film. Shah Rukh Khan changed his DP to that of Raj from DDLJ and he changed his Twitter name to Raj Malhotra. The actor also posted a video which is a collation of iconic scenes from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. He wrote: “25 years!!! Filled with gratitude towards you for loving Raj & Simran, with all your heart. This always feels special. #DDLJ25 @yrf.”
Also Kajol changed her Twitter name to Simran and DP to that of Simran from DDLJ. She tweeted: “Raj and Simran! 2 people, 1 film, 25 years and the love doesn’t stop coming in. I am truly grateful to all the people who made it what it is today… a phenomenon and a part of their own history. The fans! Big shout-out to all of you!
