As the city’s coronavirus outbreak slows, a number of small but determined protests have been seen in Hong Kong.
On such protest recently took place in Landmark Atrium mall on Wednesday where more than 100 protesters gathered, despite social distancing rules that prohibit public gatherings of more than four.
Holding up a sign calling for the movement’s five demands to be met, Mich Chan, who works in the legal industry, said she was not worried about possible transmission of the virus during the protests because the people of Hong Kong are “disciplined and know how to protect themselves” by wearing masks.
The police arrested several protesters on grounds of violating social distancing rules calling these as unlawful assemblies, but later let them go.
