In a video conference with PM Modi to discuss the situation arising due to COVID-19 in the country, on Monday, the chief ministers of a number of states wanted the lockdown to continue after May 3 with little economic activity, according to Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy.

The chief ministers unanimously told the prime minister that there needs to be a cautious approach in lifting the lockdown keeping in mind the way the virus was spreading.

The Puducherry CM said he and Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar raised the issue of migrants labours and requested the government to evolve a policy for sending the migrant workers stranded in different states to their home.

“But, the prime minister did not give any solution to resolve the migrants problem issue,”  said Narayanasamy at a press conference through video conference.
